Judy Coleman’s acrylic and watercolour paintings are inspired from the natural elements of Cumbria . Living there for twenty-two years the features of the fells and lakes became an integral part of her paintings.
Moving to Surrey in 2005 she became a full member of Guildford Art Society and her paintings took on the gentle themes of the Southern landscape. Her work both of Cumbria and Surrey continue to explore the mood and underlying contours of the landscape.
Judy studied Painting and Lithography at Nottingham College of Art. After teaching and bringing up a family she started to exhibit her paintings becoming a frequent prize winner at open exhibitions in Northamptonshire and Cumbria . In Cumbria her work was represented in many galleries and she was elected a member of the prestigious ‘Lake Artists Society’.
This year her painting ‘The River Wey at Guildford ’ was chosen to represent October in the Guildford Calendar competition for 2009.
