Having attained an ‘A’ level in Art at school, Fran returned to painting when her two daughters started school and she had more free time. She enrolled on an Adult Education Art Class and was lucky enough to have an excellent tutor. Over the years she joined several other classes, taking a particular interest in figure and life drawing, together with portraiture.
Her first love is drawing and painting subjects which include people. She spends a lot of time observing people and particularly likes humorous situations. Fran also enjoys drawing and painting animals, still life, flowers and buildings.
She has won several awards over the years for her work and was nominated for the Woking News and Mail Trophy. Earlier this year Fran was also in the final selection for a national competition run by the Daily Mail in conjunction with Jack Vettriano and her work was viewed by Mr. Vettriano himself. She has also had some work accepted for a large greetings card company.
Fran is a member of Fleet, Guildford and Woking Art Societies. Besides exhibiting at Guildford House Gallery, the National Trust’s 1215 Gallery at Runnymede and Debra Grech’s Art Exhibition in Winchester , she has also had work accepted for the Society of Women Artists Exhibition at the Mall Galleries in London
