Guildford Art Society holds two regular annual exhibitions.
The Spring Exhibition, which is open to all members is held in the Harvey Gallery, while the Autumn Exhibition, for full members only, is held at Guildford House.
An independant panel of judges selects the works to be included in the exhibition. Once it is ready to open, the awards, sponsored by several local companies are judged. The winners in 2007 were:
Chairman's Award: Margaretha Shepherd: "Rusty Old Plate"
County Club Award: Jackie Walker: "Venetian Red"
Jon Brownrigg Award: John Bryce: "The Tower of London"
Aquarius Open Award: John Walker: "Out from the Coast"
AWB Award for Marine Painting: Rosemary Miller: "Sunlit Jetty"
AJS Award: Claire Secrett: "Soul meets Soul" by Shelley
Guildford Art Centre Mixed Media Award: Liz Seward Relfe: "Journey"
President's Cup for 'Best in Show' as voted for by the public: Roger Dellar: "Anthony Eyton RA"

The Society has over 350 members, including professional artists and talented local amateur artists, some of whom exhibit regularly in the London galleries.
We have a full programme of events, including demonstrations, workshops, lectures, appraisals, which are open to all members and their guests; see the Programme page for details
