ALAN HUNT MA FCSD

Trained at Camberwell School of Arts and Crafts, tutors included Pasmore, Minton, Coldstream and Monnington. Awarded National Diploma of Design in 1951.

1953 to 1967 employed as an industrial designer in private industry in the UK and overseas specialising in furniture products and interiors. Elected Member of the Society of Industrial Artists and Designers.

1967 joined the London College of Furniture as Senior Lecturer and subject leader for interior design; concurrently established own design consultancy with Pat Campbell Hunt.

1974 appointed Principal Lecturer in Design – subject areas included all forms of visual communication, design theory and practice, design history and professional and management studies.

1977 Elected Fellow of the Chartered Society of Designers.

1990 awarded Master of Arts degree in Further Education, University of Greenwich .

1995 retired as Principal Lecturer, John Cass Faculty of Art, Design and Technology at London Guildhall University .

2002 – 2004 External Examiner at London Metropolitan University for MA programme.

Since 1992 has developed an interest in painting, elected as Full Member of the Guildford Art Society. Exhibited in various group shows, and works appear in private collections in the UK and USA , France and Italy .

Lectures on aspects of art history to various groups and organisations.

2001 – 2004 - Chairman of Guildford Art Society.

2007 – elected as Full Member of the Dorking Group of Artists.

2004 – 2007 – Hon Treasurer of Chartered Society of Designers and Assessor for Corporate Membership.
